Arts District Producer - Video Journalist

Rocky Mountain Public Media, home to Rocky Mountain PBS and KUVO radio, is the largest statewide, member-supported, multi-media network in Colorado. Rocky Mountain Public Media's mission is to strengthen the civic fabric in communities throughout Colorado, engaging audiences through high-quality, trusted programming, community programs and partnerships, and educational initiatives that inform, enlighten and entertain. To further this mission, Rocky Mountain Public Media seeks a full-time Producer Video Journalist.



Arts District is looking for an artistic producer and storyteller to join our growing team.  This role will often solo-produce arts feature segments for our weekly, Colorado-centric arts program. Based in Denver, this role will work with the Arts District team to cover content in the metro Denver area, but will also travel statewide as needed. Candidates with strong storytelling and writing experience are preferred.



Responsible for solo-producing unique and compelling visual segments on a weekly basis including; segment deliverables: video, web content, social media, etc. May work with team producers as videographer, editor or producer for additional segments. Plan segments with EP of Arts and help to develop direction of new Colorado arts coverage. Assist with writing and approving weekly broadcast scripts for hosts and segment producers. Will be trained on Arts District full show deliverables and exports ensuring all technical products are up-to FCC, RMPBS red-book standards to assist with weekly episode edits. Create social media video content to promote segments. Mentor team interns each semester. Other projects as assigned



Degree in journalism or related field. 3-years video journalism experience. Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud. Broadcast writing skills. Valid driver's license and an acceptable MVR insurable for driving station vehicles.


Office, studio, editing, and field environments.
