Receptionist / Office Assistant

Rocky Mountain Public Media, home to Rocky Mountain PBS and KUVO radio, is the largest statewide, member-supported, multi-media network in Colorado. Rocky Mountain Public Media's mission is to strengthen the civic fabric in communities throughout Colorado, engaging audiences through high-quality, trusted programming, community programs and partnerships, and educational initiatives that inform, enlighten and entertain. To further this mission, Rocky Mountain Public Media seeks a full-time Receptionist / Office Assistant.



The Receptionist / Office Assistant is the first point of contact for guests who visit or contact Rocky Mountain Public Media.  The ideal candidate is a professional and detail-oriented multi-tasker accustomed to managing simultaneous requests. This position is responsible for handling a wide variety of customer service interactions and administrative tasks.  This position also supports the Finance and Administration Department and the Executive Office.



  • Provides excellent in-person customer service by welcoming RMPM guests and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Provide excellent phone customer service to RMPM callers and directing them to the appropriate staff/department.

  • Maintain a safe and secure facility by ensuring all RMPM guests and visitors follow check-in/check-out procedures.

  • Maintain knowledge of and be able to communicate RMPBS and KUVO programs, actives, and events to guests, visitors, and callers.

  • Opens, date/time stamps, and distribute incoming mail.

  • Manages organizational office supply ordering; receives and distributes supplies to departments.

  • Maintains organizational directory, calendar, and RMPM intranet in Office365 Environment.

  • Creates and distributes the staff and volunteer newsletter.

  • Completes weekly bank deposit.

  • Supports the office copier and postage machines.

  • Supports the Finance and Administration Department in other duties as requested.

  • Supports the Executive Office as a backup to the Director of Executive Operations.



High School Diploma or Equivalent. Minimum 1-2 years of administrative and customer service experience.



Spanish language skills a plus. Interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively to people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve unexpected situations. High level of organization and attention to detail. Knowledge of and prior usage of Office365 applications such as SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of basic audio/video equipment and web conferencing tools.
